Spotlight on the WA Life Sciences Innovation Hub

On behalf of the WA Life Sciences Innovation Hub (WALSIH) and our partners MTPConnectUniversity of Western Australia, and the WA Government, we are delighted to invite you to join us as we celebrate seven years of impact on WA’s health and medical life sciences sector:

‘Spotlight on the WA Life Sciences Innovation Hub: Celebrating 7 years of impact’

Launched in 2018, the WA Life Sciences Innovation Hub has played a pivotal role in fostering collaboration, supporting innovation, and strengthening the biomedical sector in Western Australia. This event offers an opportunity to reflect on WALSIH’s journey, celebrate the collective achievements of the sector, and highlight the impact of our support, and look ahead to the opportunities before us.

The morning will feature remarks from WALSIH’s partners:

  • WA Government – Hon Stephen Dawson, Minister for Medical Research; Science and Innovation
  • MTPConnect – Stuart Dignam, CEO
  • University of Western Australia – Professor Anna Nowak, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research)

The event will explore:

  • WALSIH’s origins and the vision that shaped it
  • Key highlights and insights from the Impact Report, including WALSIH’s impact across the commercialisation and workforce development pipelines, and the growth of WA’s biomedical ecosystem over the last seven years
  • What the future may hold for WA’s biomedical ecosystem

A case study from a WA-founded company will also illustrate how WALSIH’s work is translating into real-world impact.

Following the formal program, guests will be invited to continue conversations over refreshments and to tour the Westside Innovation Space in the Perkins building.

We would be honoured by your presence as we reflect on seven years of progress and look forward to the next chapter of growth for Western Australia’s biomedical sector.
