The organisation will now be known as AUScelerate, with the news shared with the Australian and global life sciences sector at the CSL Australian BIO 2026 Dinner in San Diego ahead of the BIO International Convention, the world’s largest biotechnology partnering event.
Board Chair the Hon. Jaala Pulford explains why the time is right for this update.
“Our new name and bolder brand identity reflect the organisation’s evolution and better capture what we do, the value we create and the role we play — both here in Australia and on the global stage,” said Pulford.
“And while the name AUScelerate may be new, our programs and commitment to supporting Australia’s life science innovators is not.
“We will continue delivering world-class accelerator and innovation programs, supporting early-stage biomedical and medtech development, connecting Australian companies to global markets and driving the commercialisation of breakthrough health and medical technologies.
“We remain at the heart of Australia’s life sciences ecosystem, connecting capability, capital and commercial pathways from coast to coast and across the globe,” said Pulford.
The name change was announced at the flagship BIO Conference welcome reception and dinner, delivered by AUScelerate in partnership with the American Australian Association and supported by CSL. The event was attended by leaders from the Australian life science sector and international partners and investors from countries including the US, UK, Canada, South Korea, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Singapore.
MTPConnect was established by the Australian Government in 2015 as part of its Industry Growth Centres Initiative. While funding for those activities ceased in 2022, the organisation continues to operate as an independent entity and partners to industry, research, the health sector and government.
