Research impact has become an increasingly important component of competitive grant applications, it often contributes a substantial proportion of the assessment score, with some funding programs, (e.g. MRFF), placing particularly strong emphasis on impact.
This practical three-hour workshop provides WA researchers with the essential knowledge and tools needed to develop stronger impact sections for grant applications, and more effectively articulate research impact within their track record. The workshop is specifically designed for researchers applying to NHMRC and MRFF funding schemes, and draws on relevant assessment criteria, reviewer expectations and application examples.
WAGES workshops are designed for teams to come together and develop and enhance their ideas for a grant application.
Therefore, each registrant is encouraged to nominate up to 3 team members who also attend the workshop.
WAGES workshops are subsidised by the WA Future Health Research and Innovation Fund and therefore free for attendees. Due to capacity limits a selection process will be used if the number of applicants exceeds the number of places.
Who should attend:
• WA health and medical researchers intending to apply for NHMRC and MRFF funding schemes.
• Preference may be given to those intending to apply in 2026/2027.
Delivered by AUScelerate (formerly MTPConnect), in partnership with Synergy Health Solutions, WAGES is a new three-year program funded by the FHRI Fund, designed to boost Western Australia’s success in securing funding through national health and medical research and innovation opportunities, particularly the MRFF.
